SCIR

The moment a game character takes a hit, generate a realistic full-body reaction: from the current pose and where, from which direction and how hard the hit lands, one forward pass gives 2 seconds of motion.

What I built

First, 57k hit reactions simulated in Isaac Lab with ProtoMotions as training data.

The network (1D-CNN + DCT) outputs the whole 2-second clip in one forward pass, in 1.8 ms; on 6 people unseen in training, joint position error is 5.4 cm.

Shown on a character in Unreal, and it carries over to other characters such as Manny.
